Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani, Hyderabad Campus, is inviting applications for one Project Technical Support – III position in the Department of Pharmacy under an Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR)-sponsored research project. The project focuses on developing a novel inhibitor to prevent chronic kidney disease (CKD) progression and associated complications in cardiorenal syndrome type IV. Candidates with qualifications in M.Pharm. (Pharmacology), M.Sc. Biotechnology, or related biomedical and life science disciplines can apply. The selected candidate will receive a monthly fellowship of ₹28,000 plus HRA, as applicable under ICMR and institute norms.

Research Project Details

Project Title: Development of a novel inhibitor to prevent CKD progression and associated complications in cardiorenal syndrome type-IV.

The selected candidate will work on the ICMR-sponsored research project under the supervision of Prof. Shrikant R. Mulay in the Department of Pharmacy at BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus.

Eligibility & Qualifications

Candidates must meet the educational and age requirements specified in the recruitment advertisement.

Essential Qualifications

Applicants should hold one of the following qualifications:

• First-class M.Pharm. in Pharmacology

• M.Sc. in Biotechnology

• A degree in a related biomedical or life science discipline, supported by a strong academic record

The maximum age limit is 27 years.

Desired Qualifications and Skills

The following qualifications and experience will be advantageous:

• A valid Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) qualification.

• Knowledge of cardiovascular and renal pharmacology.

• Understanding of molecular biology, histology, and immunohistochemistry (IHC).

• Hands-on experience in in-vivo and in-vitro pharmacological experimentation.

• Practical knowledge of molecular biology techniques such as RT-PCR and Western blotting (WB).

• Prior research experience in industry or academia, particularly in drug discovery and development.

• A strong academic record and practical expertise in relevant experimental techniques.

Applicants should also demonstrate an interest in drug discovery and development, a self-motivated attitude, adaptability, and the ability to multitask effectively.

Fellowship and Project Duration

• Monthly Fellowship: ₹28,000 plus HRA, as applicable under ICMR and institute norms.

• Project Duration: 3 years.

• Position: One Project Technical Support – III vacancy.

Selected candidates may be permitted to register for the Ph.D. programme at BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus, subject to fulfilling the applicable institute requirements.
