About the Role

The Associate STEM Content Analyst will work with Clarivate’s Abstraction Team in IP Operations, which is responsible for enriching and curating high-quality patent content for Patent Intelligence products.

The role involves analyzing patents and creating value-added technical summaries while following established abstraction policies, production targets, and quality standards.

Chemistry Patent Abstraction Responsibilities

  • Prepare abstracts for patents according to the DWPI Abstracting Policy.
  • Perform detailed analysis of patents to provide accurate and editorially enhanced technical information.
  • Create technical summaries containing:

    • Descriptive titles
    • Uses
    • Novel features
    • Advantages
    • Other important information related to the invention

  • Capture useful insights from patent data.
  • Generate editorially enhanced technical summaries of patent records.
  • Use Clarivate-specific tools for content editing, abstraction, and curation.
  • Maintain defined quality standards and production targets.
  • Contribute to the enrichment and curation of patent content for Patent Intelligence products.

Eligibility & Qualifications

Educational Qualification

Candidates should be graduates with an M.Sc. in one of the following areas:

  • General Chemistry
  • Organic Chemistry
  • Inorganic Chemistry
  • Physical Chemistry
  • Analytical Chemistry
  • Polymer Science

Eligible Qualification Courses

M.Sc. Chemistry | M.Sc. Organic Chemistry | M.Sc. Inorganic Chemistry | M.Sc. Physical Chemistry | M.Sc. Analytical Chemistry | M.Sc. Polymer Science

Experience

  • Freshers are preferred.
  • Candidates with up to 1 year of experience in content abstraction or editing can also apply.
  • Strong domain knowledge in Chemistry and related technology fields is required.

Patent & Technical Skills

Candidates should have:

  • Good understanding of patents.
  • Strong knowledge of Chemistry and related technology domains.
  • Understanding of patent drafting is beneficial.
  • Ability to analyze technical patent information.
  • Strong English comprehension skills.
  • Ability to create clear and accurate technical summaries.
