Job Role & Responsibilities

As a Safety & PV Specialist I, you will play a crucial role in managing safety data, literature review, and case processing to ensure compliance with international pharmacovigilance regulations. Key responsibilities include:

Literature Search & Data Management

  • Conduct systematic and ad-hoc literature searches in global biomedical databases (PubMed, Medline, Embase).
  • Extract and summarize key safety data relevant to ICSRs (Individual Case Safety Reports).
  • Create and validate literature search strategies for pharmacovigilance use.
  • Manage data entry in PVG quality and tracking systems for ICSR receipt and tracking.

ICSR Processing

  • Triage ICSRs and evaluate data for accuracy, completeness, and regulatory reporting compliance.
  • Enter data into safety databases and perform MedDRA coding of events, history, and medications.
  • Generate accurate narrative summaries and resolve data queries efficiently.
  • Assist in expedited safety reporting as per GVP and ICH guidelines.

Quality & Compliance

  • Perform quality control (QC) and validation of ICSR data and literature reviews.
  • Support global and local literature search compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Maintain safety documentation in the Trial Master File (TMF) or Pharmacovigilance System Master File (PSMF).
  • Participate in audits and ensure alignment with company SOPs, GVP, ICH, and GCP standards.

Technical Systems & Collaboration

  • Work with internal teams and external stakeholders to manage drug safety deliverables.
  • Utilize database tools and software for data capture, coding, and tracking (e.g., Argus, ARISg).
  • Contribute to ongoing safety database maintenance, SPOR/IDMP activities, and duplicate ICSR management.

Eligibility / Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy (B.Pharm, M.Pharm, Pharm.D), Nursing, Biotechnology, or related disciplines.
  • Experience: Fresh graduates or candidates with prior pharmacovigilance exposure are encouraged to apply.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Knowledge of safety databases and medical terminology.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
    • Familiarity with clinical trial processes, ICH-GCP, GVP, and pharmacovigilance regulations.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication.
    • Time management and multitasking abilities.
    • Team collaboration and analytical problem-solving mindset.
