Job Role & Responsibilities

As a Medical Science Liaison (MSL), you will act as the scientific bridge between Boehringer Ingelheim and the medical community. You’ll engage in medical education, data dissemination, and clinical collaborations while executing the company’s Medical Affairs strategy within your assigned zone.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand and analyze current clinical practices, treatment trends, and therapeutic developments within your assigned therapy area (especially diabetes).
  • Build strong, credible relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), healthcare professionals (HCPs), and scientific institutions.
  • Execute key medical projects (e.g., Investigator-Initiated Studies, IIS) to foster collaboration and data exchange with the medical community.
  • Provide non-promotional, evidence-based scientific communication to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support regulatory and commercial teams by providing scientific rationale and literature during new product registration and defense.
  • Participate in medico-marketing activities and local medical strategy implementation.
  • Offer medical insights to internal teams regarding emerging trends, clinical practices, and customer needs.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with External Experts (EEs) in the therapeutic area and regularly update management on engagement outcomes.
  • Write, review, and revise labeling documents and medical content in accordance with SOPs.
  • Assist Regulatory Affairs with external expert access and scientific liaison activities.
  • Ensure continuous compliance with company policies, medical governance, and ethical standards.

Eligibility / Qualifications

Educational Qualification:

  • Medical Degree (MD in Pharmacology preferred) or
  • Master’s / Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or related fields with strong scientific understanding.

Experience:

  • 0–3 years experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry preferred.
  • Fresh MD Pharmacology graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Candidates without doctoral degrees should have 10+ years of relevant field-based experience with strong scientific expertise.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong expertise in diabetes therapy area.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
  • Basic IT proficiency (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate science into practical business insights.
